The ADA Coalition of Connecticut will honor Margaret H. [Peg] Dignoti, Executive Director of The Arc of Connecticut from 1981 to 2006, at a reception on July 26th to recognize the 20th anniversary of the signing of the ADA and those who have been key in making the ADA work in Connecticut. Former Governor and U.S. Senator Lowell P. Weicker, Jr., who served as a chief architect of the ADA, will be keynote speaker at "The ADA at 20: Dreams Delivered, Dreams Deferred."
The ADACC will show for the first time "The 20th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA): Human Rights in Progress." The video cites the compelling reasons for the ADA, highlights accomplishments, and issues a call to action from the current status. As one of the groundbreakers, Peg was among those interviewed for the production.
The program begins at 2:30 pm at the Legislative Office Building, Room 2-C. If you will be attending, please RSVP by July 21 to Lisa Caron, ADACC Project Director, 860.297.4383 or adacoalition@sbcglobal.net.
To Peg, we send our warmest congratulations!
